As we all become older other events in life cause our paths to fork leading us to where we are needed the most. My path is leading me back to Michigan to be with my Mom for an unknown period of time. Our HBNM 2008
festival is being put on hold. The Hummingbird bander I trained last year is expecting to be in Peru working with high altitude hummingbirds during the time our festival would have taken place. I will continue with HBNM newsletters 2 times a year even from Michigan, there is lots to learn that can be done with
that to our HBNM members during this time and discounts still offered from NM businesses.
I will be checking out the Ruby-throated while in their territory increasing my knowledge because eventually I hope to hold onto one of them here in New Mexico. When Bill returns from Peru, he will still be in New Mexico banding hummingbirds and giving programs during my absence.
We are accepting new memberships to HBNM. The funds from memberships will help allow Bill to travel to the hummingbirds around New Mexico as gas prices get higher. Other than bander travel needs and newsletter/website costs the money HBNM receives will grow towards our next festival.
